PACE of the Southern Piedmont (PACESP) celebrated the first of many PACE Awareness Months to come in Charlotte, North Carolina (NC). On September 1, 2016 PACESP hosted Mayor Jennifer Roberts of Charlotte, NC, along with community partners, caregivers, staff, participants and the NC PACE Association, to celebrate its first official PACE Awareness Month. Mayor Roberts presented an official proclamation for the city of Charlotte and talked about the wonderful benefits PACE offers to the communities in which it serves, as well as to the entire State of NC.
Caregivers shared their stories of what it means to be a part of the PACESP family, and participants expressed their gratitude for the positive impact PACE has had on their lives as they grow older, embracing their quality of life and independence. CEO and Executive Director Renee Rizzuti, highlighted the many accomplishments of PACESP so far, and thanked everyone in attendance for their support and advocacy PACE.
Governor Pat McCrory also proclaimed September as PACE MONTH in North Carolina and commended its observance to all citizens.
